Event Details

Patrick's Dewane's grandfather didn't talk about his experiences in World War Two, but he wrote about them, chronicling the events in a journal that was discovered twenty years after his death. His grandson, Patrick Dewane, has brought this incredible story to life in a one-man, multimedia show called "The Accidental Hero." Before he takes to the stage at the Capital Civic Center, Patrick—along with Special Guest, Lincoln High School History teacher, Carl Sieracki—will give a presentation at the Manitowoc Public Library on Monday, May 22nd, at 6 PM that compares and contrasts the wartime experience of his grandfather with the lives of citizens at home along the Lakeshore (with a question-and-answer period to follow). An incredible opportunity to examine history in a local context!
