Doctor Who Day @ Manitowoc Public Library
Allons-y!! To Manitowoc Public Library for Doctor Who Day on Saturday, December 9th that is!! A Tardis-load of activities and fun awaits prospective Time Lords at the library between 9 AM and 2 PM that day—Doctor Who Cubee Craft and Fez stations, a Scavenger Hunt for all the manifestations of The Doctor dispersed throughout the building, a Doctor Who-themed photo booth, a costume contest and parade (with Guest Judges Mayor Justin Nickels,
Bank First National's Odessa Allen, and Veterinarian Extraordinaire, Dr. Maura Mansfield) with a prize awarded for the best attire, a Time And Relative Dimension In Space in Third Dimensional cake form, “Whopardy!” (Doctor-centric “Jeopardy!”) and more!!! So much to see! Just in case you were considering bringing bananas to this party—because bananas are good!—there’s no need: we’ve got that covered. Please do join us on December 9th! And should you be concerned that any of the Doctor’s enemies might show up to ruin the fun, fear not—you’ll be in a library. Which means that you’ll be surrounded by books! And books, as you know well, are the best weapons in the world! A special thanks to Friends of the Manitowoc Library, Festival Foods, Kwik Trip, and Heidi Laux for their sponsorship and support!

But, Wait! There’s More!
MPL is fortunate to be partnering with Manitowoc’s Baymont Inn & Suites with a special offer for Doctor Who Day attendees who may be traveling from outside the area. Give Baymont Inn a call at 920-284-2097 to reserve a room for any night (or nights!) that weekend, mention that you’ll be attending Doctor Who Day and you’ll receive a special reduced rate! Come for Doctor Who Day, but stay for Evergleams on Eighth, Lights in Lincoln Park, and all the other holiday fun that Manitowoc has to offer! Make a weekend of it in Manitowoc!

Hold On! There’s Still More!
Inspired by the Fourth Doctor, Tom Baker—the longest-lived incarnation of The Doctor—MPL will be holding a Scarf Drive in association with Doctor Who Day. Attendees are encouraged to bring new or gently used scarves to donate at the event, which will in turn be distributed to local organizations that assist those in need. So, warm the cockles of your heart by knowing that you’re helping someone to more readily face a cold Wisconsin winter. Don’t be a Dalek—care about humanity!
